No matter how much we read or are told, we learn best from our own experience.
Anyone who has worked in a big (or not so big) company has surely attended loads of conferences where some man they call a “guru” explains his life and professional successes. Yes, you get something out of it…but it is much more enriching if the experience is your own.
Companies need “innovation” to create new projects and develop new business so they can continue to grow. What worked 10 years ago no longer does.
To do so, they have to change how their team thinks, encourage each person’s innate talent and add a healthy dose of innovation, creativity and passion.
We all need to be nourished by new contexts, break from our routine, observe our surroundings with an open mind, experience and feel it.
My passion for music has led me to design training sessions that use emotions to develop professional skills.
Here’s the Making Of from a workshop I created for Grupo Planeta focusing on Innovation and Creativity.
The workshop discussed how a song is made, the different sources of inspiration, how to live through success and failure, the importance of teamwork, how to deal with our own egos, the need to stay up to date and get ahead of the curve…
It was a great experience. We didn’t just learn, we had a great time doing it. And that’s very important, at work and in life.
