An unexpected occurrence got me thinking about the first post I ever wrote for L’Antic Garatge… Just like I said on that occasion, I don’t think anything lasts forever. Life is a roller coaster, you never know what’s around the corner. That’s why I think the ability to adapt is one of the most important qualities of any living thing.
Many animals and plants can adapt dramatically to new circumstances in no time at all in order to survive, by changing their diet, habitat, and more. In this regard, I really feel like humans are the worst species by far. And I think the reason is very simple: we don’t follow our instincts like other species do. We are guided by socially established patterns and by our rational sides, rather than by our innate nature as human beings. In most cases, we are paralysed by fear.
I stopped resisting change long ago, and I decided to be in permanent “Chameleon mode”. And you know what? I love it! It allows you to learn every day, get to know yourself better, and enjoy the present no matter what the circumstances. Live in peace, be respectful and live in harmony with yourself and your environment. Enjoy the small things every day, whether eating at a Michelin star restaurant or a €0.50 meal at a roadside restaurant in India. Dare to live your life and follow your dreams no matter what the “rules” say, or what others expect of you… In short, be happy! I’m not saying it will always be easy, but the difference lies in your attitude to things, which only you have the power to change.

You know what they say: adapt or die. So I hope that you all set your attitude to “Chameleon mode”, and make sure to buckle up, sit back, and enjoy the roller coaster of life.
Catch you later chameleons!
